Our Key Influencers

SiSu- Pedal the Pain is a lifestyle brand with a group of like-minded individuals who all share the same resilience, drive and mental toughness. We are proud to have a few key influencers on board helping to shape and grow our brand.

SiSu_key-influencer Eben Vermaak

Eben Vermaak

Pain is Temporary

Born and bred in Johannesburg, Eben Vermaak is a very late participant to edurance sports. He took up cycling after a big motorbike accident late 2013. MTB was his first love until a friend introduced him to the fast-paced world of road cycling and like they say the rest is history. Abe as he is known by his friends and family has an extremely addictive personality and a very strong mental presence on the bike that helped him secure a 3rd place in the North Gauteng TT championships only  4 years after swinging his leg over a saddle for the first time. A couple of top 10 positions in Vets A racing over the last couple of years keeps him motivated and hungry for the podium while representing the SiSu brand lifestyle... Father of 2 boys and husband to his very supportive wife, he will gladly tackle any Pain peddling session, be it on the bike or in life.

SiSu_key-influencer Herman Schutte

Herman Schutte

Self-proclaimed cycling apparel connoisseur

Herman grew up on a bike with his earliest memories being of him riding his BMX around his hometown of Pretoria in South Africa. After a 2 year break from cycling, working in the Big Apple, he returned home and took up mountain biking. Entering the Jock Classique in 2015 as his first road cycling race, he found a new love for road cycling and started competing as a licensed vet rider in 2016. Preferring the challenge of the hillier races, he can appreciate the importance of quality and comfortable kit when setting a steady rhythm up a climb."

Brenton Noakes

The Gentle Beast

Down in the heartland of Ironman country, Nelson Mandela Bay, we have brand ambassador and friend of SiSu, Brenton Noakes. A relatively late starter to the sport of cycling but avid fan of almost anything ‘sport’ and anything ‘racing’. This ex-Springbok fell in love with the sport of cycling when he bought his brother in laws old bike with the intention of experiencing something different and hopefully losing a few kilograms in the process. 8 years on and he has proved himself to be a tenacious competitor on the local scene and handy all rounder. A couple age group podium finishes in the Herald Cycle Tour, rank as career highlights alongside being dubbed, “The Gentle Beast” by the long time darling of South African ladies cycling, Anriette Schoeman.

SiSu_key-influencer Clinton de Witt

Clinton de Witt

The Motivator

Dedicated family man and self-employed successful businessman - Clinton's moral fibres and commitment to hard work started early. Growing up and educated in the Cape Town winelands of Stellenbosch he learned from an early age that success is only achieved through huge amounts of hard work, breaking through the barriers and defying the odds... there he learned the importance of teamwork and he has always embraced pain and hard work with a smile - he is the humble dark horse that will always motivate those around him. Starting as a roadie he switched to the dirt roads due to his love for nature and in search for that extra challenge, taking on the Wines to Whales, Attakwas, Trans Augrabies and Karoo to Coast races - leaving him to set his aim on the Swiss Epic, Cape Epic and Haute Route as the next chapters in this challenge called life...

Adriaan Oosthuizen

The Sprinter

My name is Adriaan Oosthuizen and I am a full time Optometrist in Port Elizabeth. I grew up in a small Eastern Cape town called Burgersdorp and started cycling when I was 11 years old. Did my first Argus cycle tour when I was 12 and then started to race as a licensed rider. The hilly and lonely roads in Burgersdorp made me mentally and physically strong and taught me how to suffer alone in the wind. I stopped cycling for a few years when I went to study and never thought that i would fall in love with this sport again. When i moved to Port Elizabeth in 2016, the flame got re-ignited and have been burning bright ever since. I am definitely a sprinter but I love to battle it out on the hills with the real climbers and pride myself on being a sprinter that can stick with them. I love racing in the pro bunch and testing myself against the best guys in SA. Cycling is life and SiSu kits make you look good and feel comfortable on the bike.
